Pick up from your Split hotel or cruise ship by private car and driver and embark on your private day tour to Plitvice Lakes – drive around 3 hours to the UNESCO-listed national park where the terraced lakes and waterfalls are located in a dense forest of nearly 20 hectares, once known to the locals as ‘the Devil’s Garden’. In all, 16 emerald, turquoise or misty grey lakes are linked by countless cascades in a valley 5 miles long, and visitors can admire them from a series of wooden walkways. During the day you also take a short boat trip and ride on an electric train. Please note that you should have comfortable shoes suitable for walking, and that some of the lakes are situated in a steep-sided valley and you will have to walk down to them and walk up again. Return to your hotel or cruise ship in Split.
