Pick up from your Dubrovnik hotel or cruise ship by your private car and driver and English-speaking local guide and drive just a dozen or so miles along the coast to the enchanting little town of Cavtat, a tiny medieval town on the coast with pine forests behind and the glittering blue sea on front, stone houses and red roofs, cobbled streets and colourful window boxes – a real hidden gem of the Mediterranean. Edward & Mrs Simpson spent part of their honeymoon here! Explore the old town and stroll along the palm-tree lined promenade before heading out into the pretty countryside of the Konavle region, a region of hills covered in mulberry and cypress trees, vineyards and olive groves. Visit a local vineyard and taste some of their wines and homemade snacks. Before returning to Dubrovnik, visit a 15th century Franciscan monastery at the village of Pridvorje.
