Take the 120-year-old tram up to the summit to admire the panorama of Hong Kong Island, the harbour, Kowloon Peninsula and the distant hills of the New Territories on a clear day. Continue to Aberdeen, once a charming fishing village in a secluded bay, now a busy and sprawling town that retains its charm with yachts, fishing boats and old-fashioned junks in the harbour, and you can take a sampan cruise around the harbour to see the fast-disappearing way of life of the fishing folk here, then continue to Stanley Market, where a huge range of bargains entice visitors daily.
