| Meet your local English-speaking guide, car and driver at your hotel or cruise ship tender in Porec, and head for the hills! Drive inland for around an hour, passing vineyards, olive groves, forests and orchards to one of Croatia's most famous small villages, Motovun. Perched on a hilltop and surrounded by its old walls along which you can walk, filled with medieval houses, churches and galleries, and gorgeous views - it's a romantic and fairytale place! It is also famous for its black and white truffles, some of which will be an ingredient in your lunch which you take in a traditional restaurant here. Your guide can show you around St Stephen's Church, the Municipal Palace, the quaint alleyways and corners, take you to the best viewpoints and tell you all about the way of life for the 500 residents. Later, visit charming Groznjan which is home to many artists who have breathed new life into the old stones of the village, and you can browse its workshops and galleries before enjoying a wine tasting at one of the local vintners. Continue on to Oprtalj and visit one or two of its churches before returning to Porec. |
