Private Tea Ceremony in a typical Kyoto house - Kyoto - Japan

times available:
am or pm
duration: 2 hours

overview: The Tea Ceremony is a Japanese tradition that survives even in today's bustling modernity and perhaps just because it has the qualities of a formal, almost religious ritual from another age.

details: You will be met at your Kyoto hotel and transferred by taxi to the home of your host tea-instructor who will tell you about the utensils and the tea, the Buddhist philosophy that inspires its preparation and enjoyment, and the formal and intricate sequence of symbolic movements that accompany each step of the tea ceremony itself. By the end of it, you should feel tranquil and serene, refreshed and purified! You will be the only guests present at the ceremony, and the whole event lasts around 2- 21/2 hours including taxi transfers, and afterwards, you will be returned by taxi to your hotel.

inclusions: private transfers and private tea ceremony
