| Pick up from your Zagreb hotel by private car and driver and drive around 2 hours to the UNESCO-listed national park where the terraced lakes and waterfalls are located in a dense forest of nearly 20 hectares, once known to the locals as 'the Devil's Garden'. In all, 16 emerald, turquoise or misty grey lakes are linked by countless cascades in a valley 5 miles long, and visitors can admire them from a series of wooden walkways. Meet your private guide who will take you on a nature walk of around 3 hours, and will tell you all about the local flora and fauna and the geology of the area. During the day you also take a short boat trip and ride on an electric train, call at an old village and the Open-Air War Museum at Turanj. The tour also includes a tasty 3-course lunch. Please note that you should have comfortable shoes suitable for walking, and that some of the lakes are situated in a steep-sided valley and you will have to walk down to them and walk up again.
