| full-day private from Belgrade excursion to the wine-growing town of Vrsac, the naive art village of Kovacica, the birthplace of a famous scientist and a medieval monastery |
| |
| Pick up from your Belgrade hotel and drive 40 miles north-east of Belgrade to Kovacica to enjoy some unique artworks and to learn about an almost vanished way of life. This tiny, ethnically diverse village is well-known for its 'naive' art - its colourful depictions of daily life - local farms, families, houses, harvests, weddings and wheatfields - that represent the traditional values and culture of which the local population is fiercely proud and which are highly sought-after for their entrancing portraits of rural life. Visit the town's best gallery before continuing to Idvor, birthplace of Michael Pupin, a Pulitzer prizewinning scientist.
Drive to the charming town of Vrsac near to the border with Transylvania, a region of green hills and vineyards, where sweet red grapes produce a fine wine long cherished far and wide. After a visit to a local vineyard enjoy a hearty lunch washed down by plenty of wine. Afterwards explore the medieval monastery at Mesic, and admire its frescoes before returning to Belgrade.
