details:	Pick up from your Belgrade hotel and drive into the fertile Danube valley to the handsome town of Sremski Karlovci where you can almost step back in time to its heyday 150 years ago. The town is one of Serbia's most significant cultural centres. Many important buildings are to be found around the town square, and most are in the ornate baroque style popular in 18th century Austrian Empire - of which this region formed part. Visit the seminary, the Residence of the Patriarch where there is a breathtaking array of icons in the chapel, and the rich interior of the Orthodox Cathedral with its magnificent iconostasis. Also walk up to the Chapel of the Peace where a peace treaty between the Turks and the Austrians was hammered out in 1699 - the first treaty ever discussed at a round table. Afterwards, enjoy a tour of a family-run honey museum and wine cellar - the town is famous for its wine, Bermet, that was served on board the Titanic. Return to your Belgrade hotel.
