| full day private sightseeing tour of Hong Kong Island's most famous sights - the tram up Victoria Peak, the village of Aberdeen and vibrant Stanley Market, and the city's most popular temple, Man Mo |
| |
| Pick up from your Hong Kong hotel and drive to the 19th century Man Mo Temple, dedicated jointly to the Taoist god of literature, Man, and the god of war, Mo, although the gods of justice, civil servants and antiques sellers can also be found here. Inside, the temple is richly decorated and fragrant smoke swirls above from the giant coils of incense sticks that hang from the ceiling. Why not light a candle here or perhaps consult one of the many fortune tellers near the entrance to the temple? Continue to Victoria Peak, Hong Kong's 1200 ft high landmark. Take the 120-year-old tram up to the summit to admire the panorama of Hong Kong Island, the harbour, Kowloon Peninsula and the distant hills of the New Territories on a clear day. Continue to Aberdeen, once a charming fishing village in a secluded bay, now a busy and sprawling town that retains its charm with yachts, fishing boats and old-fashioned junks in the harbour, and you can take a sampan cruise around the harbour to see the fast-disappearing way of life of the fishing folk of Aberdeen, then continue to Stanley Market, where a huge range of bargains entice visitors daily. Souvenirs, clothing, silk, traditional crafts and fake designer goods can all be found here, and bargaining is the order of the day!
